Dzień 9, 9.09.18. Norymberga- Aalen 112 km

To tutaj w latach 1945-49 zwycięzcy sądzili zwyciężonych w tzw. Nuernberger Prozesse.

Znany, bo to tutaj podczas Procesu Norymberskiego mieszkali sędziowie i oskarżyciele.

I tutaj ogromne zaskoczenie.

To w jej rękach leżała cała organizacja naszego pobytu w Aalen. Dziękujemy Michaela!

Despite the fact that today is Sunday, Hans- Hermann was in our hotel room before 8 am. We entered our minivan and drove through half of the city to large courthouse. There took place renowned trials, so called .Nuernberger Prozesse between 1945 and 1949, winners judged losers. There was 185 people judged for crimes against peace, humanity and war crimes. Judges were representatives from “4 Superpower Countries” : USA, ZSRR, Great Britain and France. We watched that place with afterthoughts that we are very lucky to live in different world, different Europe and we are building together.

Hans- Hermann, despite his 65 years, runs 18 km with his friends every Sunday, moreover he almost every day rides on bicycle. It is visible because of his silhouette and dynamic of his action. Today, he rode on his bicycle in order to escort us to Stein Castle, 10 km away from Nuremberg. Owner was (died 2 years ago) renowned Anton Wolfgang grave von Faber Castell. He was famous because there lived judges prosecutors from Nuremberg trials and because pens and pencils branded Faber Castell are used to writing down memories and much more on the whole world.

After we said farewell to each other, we ran further during our longest distance. Finish line is getting closer – less than 30% of whole distance left. Weather amazing, spirit in our team too, only our legs are heavier than at the beginning.

Route covered with hills, many run ups. Near Lauchheim Castle, 13 km before Aalen, Christoph Striner waited together with group of more than dozen runners. He is young member of local Lions Clubs. Everyone from the group dressed up in our running t-shirts. We ran all together to the market as usual with flags of 4 countries plus European Union flag. Then, big surprise. Together with mayor Thilo Rentschler, there were about one thousand people. It turned out that days of Aalen happened at the time. Mr Rentshler greeted us kindly and wore up our t-shirt. He emphasized UE role for world peace and concentrated on Polish-German relationship. He told a story about Freedom Charity Run history and its role in preaching peace and charity. He gave us check for 200 EUR and LC Aalen president for 500 EUR. We are very happy. At the end we chant We Run, we serve, We Serve, WE SERVE with rest of gathered inhabitants.

Quick shower and at 18.30 bus trip to the dinner with representatives of Aalen partner cities: from France, Hungary, Turkey and Mozambique. On the spot, we are greet by Mr Rentschler, then during the speech he is holding still our t-shirt and he acknowledges our presence. Many people came to us with congratulations. That was opportunity to talk and exchange views. Micheal Struchall was sitting with us by the table. He was the person responsible for organization of our visit in Aalen. Thank you Michael.
